Check 2D Outline and Sensory Details worksheet

Outlining: create a list of the events that happened in your single event

Circle your inciting incident (what introduces the conflict)

Circle your climax (the point of no return, the moment of high suspense)

**If you do not have an inciting incident and a climax, you do not have a plot and you should examine your event in more detail–either change what you are writing about or really look at why you want to write about that event

Self-evaluation checklist

Thursday 10/15/15

Revision: add figurative language to your personal narrative. Focus on creating similes, metaphors, personification, and symbolism for the setting and characters in your narrative.

Friday 10/16/15

GO TO ROOM 216, COMPUTER LAB

Begin typing your rough draft

**Next week we will also be in 216. The personal narrative will be due on Friday, October 23. It must be:

  • typed, double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri font
  • 2-4 typed pages long 
  • submitted via TurnItIn.com (accounts will be made next Thursday in the computer lab)
